What is HeartSpeak, and how is it different from talk therapy?

HeartSpeak is a unique emotional healing process that guides you to feel and release stress directly — without needing to talk about it. Unlike talk therapy, which engages the Thinking Mind, HeartSpeak works with the Feeling Mind. No analysis, no storytelling — just feeling what’s present and letting it go.

Do I have to talk about my problems during a HeartSpeak session?

No. In fact, you’re encouraged not to talk. You don’t need to explain, justify, or even name what’s going on. HeartSpeak allows you to work through stress without verbalising it — which can be a relief for many.

What does a session look like? What do I do?

You’ll usually be seated, eyes closed, and guided step-by-step. First, we identify what’s been triggered — and then you feel the feelings that come with it. In the Clearing phase, you let yourself feel it fully — not label it or talk about it, just feel. Then we Pivot — bring in a different feeling that helps reset your system. There is no need to worry if you are “doing it right.” You just show up and notice what happens.

What if I don’t know what I’m feeling?

That’s totally fine. Many times you don’t. You’ll be guided to tune into subtle signals — maybe a tight chest, a lump in the throat, a sense of unease. It doesn’t need a name. You just follow what you notice, and we go from there.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what you’re working through. Many people feel a noticeable shift after one session. Others prefer to work through layers over time. There’s no set program — you go at your own pace. Many use HeartSpeak regularly, like emotional maintenance.

Can I do HeartSpeak on myself, or do I need a practitioner every time?

You can absolutely learn to use it yourself. Many people do. We teach a simple version that you can use anytime — for everyday stress or deeper issues. That way, you’re not dependent on anyone else.

Does HeartSpeak work online, or does it have to be in person?

Online is just as effective. There’s no physical contact or equipment needed — just a good wifi connection and a quiet space. You’ll be guided just the same, and most people say they’re surprised by how deeply it works, even over Zoom.

I feel numb or disconnected — will this still work for me?

Yes. HeartSpeak meets you where you are. If you feel numb, we start there. The process gently helps reconnect you to what’s inside, at your own pace, without pressure or judgement.

Can HeartSpeak help with physical pain or other health issues?

Yes, it often does. We’re not treating the condition, but we are helping the body let go of stored stress — and this can ease pain, fatigue, tightness, and more. Many people come in for emotional stuff and are surprised when their physical symptoms shift too.

How does HeartSpeak work? Is there any science behind it?

Yes. It’s based on memory reconsolidation — a process backed by neuroscience that shows how emotional patterns can actually change, not just be managed. It also draws on the connection between mind, body, and nervous system. It’s not “woo,” even though it might feel a bit magical.

What if I feel worse after a session — did it not work?

Not necessarily. Sometimes the shift stirs things up. Old patterns get disrupted, and that can feel strange or raw at first. This usually settles quickly — and often means something is moving. If anything feels too much, your practitioner will help you through it.

How do I know if it’s working?

Can HeartSpeak be integrated into my current practice or modality?

Yes — easily. HeartSpeak was designed to be integrated. Many physical health professionals use it to explore emotional stress that’s impacting the body. Psychologists use it when talking isn’t getting traction. Massage therapists use it when tension or symptoms keep recurring, even after effective manual therapy. You don’t need to give up your way of working — HeartSpeak fits into it.

Is HeartSpeak evidence-based? What research supports it?

HeartSpeak is grounded in the science of memory reconsolidation, neuroplasticity, and emotional processing. That said, HeartSpeak is not a substitute for comprehensive mental health care, and it should be used with awareness when working with complex trauma or psychiatric conditions.

Support is practical, not performative. We’re here to help you apply what you’ve learned in the real world, with real clients.

How does HeartSpeak align with mindbody or biopsychosocial approaches?

HeartSpeak was built on those foundations. It addresses the emotional and physiological simultaneously — not in theory, but in practice. If you work from a biopsychosocial or mindbody perspective, HeartSpeak gives you a way to work directly with the psycho-emotional aspects of health — in a structured, teachable, and client-led way.

Is HeartSpeak suitable for children or neurodiverse clients?

Yes — often especially so. HeartSpeak doesn’t require verbal expression, insight, or emotional awareness, so it works well with children, teens, and neurodiverse clients. They don’t need to explain themselves or even understand what’s going on — they’re simply guided to feel what’s present, in their own way, at their own pace. Can HeartSpeak be used in groups or only one-on-one?
